Cheri Stollar, MA, is a Provisionally Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) in the State of Nebraska. She graduated from Doane University with a Master of Arts in Counseling degree.

Cheri’s therapy style is understanding, collaborative and compassionate. Her theoretical orientation is person-centered with techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. Cheri has been trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy with a specialized training for working with indigenous children and their caregivers through the University of Oklahoma Indian Country Child Trauma Center. Cheri is trained in addressing historical trauma within minority populations, intergenerational trauma within families as well as trauma experienced during childhood and adulthood. Cheri has extensive experience in working with survivors of human trafficking, survivors of intimate partner violence and survivors of sexual violence.
Cheri has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in individual settings and in group settings, with a wide range of mental health issues including PTSD, dissociation, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, psychosis and substance use and life experiences including homelessness, grief and loss, incarceration, issues with gender and sexuality and healing from trauma and abuse. She also is passionate about empowering people who have experienced trauma, racism and oppression.
